HOW OTT TAX EXEMPTS GOVT OFFICIALS

Its a calm way for government officials in Uganda to come up with new creative ideas of tax collection that will struggle the economy hard to the spills.

A statement that was pronounced jokingly by the president of Uganda when addressing politicians didn't seem to make any meaning at that time until the act for the proposal was in-acted in Parliament and implemented on a fresh financial year 2018/2019 on 01st July 2018.

The imagination you have of my post now is surely totally different from the content when u read to the end.

Though most governments have lived on secretes, the government of Uganda makes its secrete businesses look open and naked.

OTT Tax doesn't affect UTL among other telecom players in the country. The government officials owned telecommunication company has suffered so many losses since 2010 and its existence is almost not felt any more. The young company now looks like a retired suffocated malnourished muzei. The president in the bid to awaken it up OTT tax has been exempted from the UTL subscribers who are mostly the already employed government workers and being strictly collected from the unemployed poor Ugandan youths using MTN, Airtel and Africel.
